To Prepare, Respond and Reclaim: Gun Violence and Houses of Worship
Wednesday, October 23, 2019 | 7:00 pm

Every day in America, more than 100 people lose their lives to guns. Hundreds of thousands of survivors live with wounds and trauma from gun violence. And yet, as people of faith, we are compelled to envision, and to work for, a world without gun violence.

Join us for this evening of reflection and hope. Survivors, faith leaders and theologians discuss how we can prepare for and respond to the world as it is today, and work to reclaim safety and security for all God’s children.

Pierre Thomas, Chief Justice Correspondent for ABC News, leads a multi-faceted discussion with survivors, faith leaders, community members and theologians. The evening includes a keynote presentation by Canon Theologian Kelly Brown Douglas and incorporates music, prayer, and reflection, sending those present forth with inspiration for our shared work.

Rev. Eric Manning, Mother Emanuel AME Church
Alan Hausman, Tree of Life Congregation (invited)
Rev. Canon Kelly Brown Douglas, Canon Theologian, Washington National Cathedral
