Globally-renowned conductor Marin Alsop returns to the Cathedral with the National Orchestral Institute + Festival to perform Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 2. Known as Mahler’s “Resurrection,” this orchestral masterpiece was first performance at the Cathedral by Alsop’s mentor Leonard Bernstein in 1984.
Last year, Alsop’s debut of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony was the highest-attended concert in Cathedral history. “Alsop has again packed the houses, and made her orchestra play like there was no tomorrow.” - The London Times
